Lawrence gave me a huge surprise (possibly the hugest in my life so far =P) at the NUH Kopitiam on Thursday evening when he showed up there! I’d only expected him back next week. Its our 4th year anniversary on Tuesday, and as a present, he got me the new Canon Powershot G10! Thanks dear =)
I decided to break it in by taking it to spa and dinner yesterday, and this morning, I took these pictures of my granny. She’s about 90 this year, and is still high-spirited despite having a whole host of medical problems now. She was my primary caregiver in my early years, and now constantly reminds me to get married soon.

Granny in her chair in our messy Sunday morning family area (the maid was in the midst of changing cushion covers for the sofa).
Its a lovely rainy Wednesday afternoon. I’m in my room, stuck with my thoughts, evaluating my life, and getting a much needed reprieve from the world. God knows how tired I’ve been for the past month or so.
Sometimes we really don’t know how things develop into such an ugly mess, until it just sits up and whacks you in the face. Sometimes we don’t know how to face it, or how to move on from there. Sometimes, we also meet a crossroad, with decisions to make, and problems from all fronts of our lives coming at us like a train rushing to meet its schedule.
Gaining the strength to face Life, and just hoping that things will turn out for the best.

Taken by Wenkien during our birthday dinner for Zhen last Sunday at Canele, Shaw Tower. There were many photos taken of the night, and this was my favourite. I love how we all look so natural and happy! To see the rest, there’s those from Pooja on facebook and from Wenkien on his blog. Yesterday we had a really fun pool party at Mirri’s house as well. Massive girl-on-girl action in the pool grabbing for a plastic ball during the pool games. I’m waiting impatiently for the photos to surface on fb/wk’s blog.
The past week has been a mishmash of family and school troubles. It sometimes feels as though my old friend the depressive thoughts are back. Hoping that the dark clouds clear away soon.
On a brighter note, I’m very pleased with my haul from the Club21 sale, even if I didn’t venture into the Balenciaga/Marc Jacobs territory due to budget issues. Whoever thought of holding it at the Paddock is brilliant! Excellent venue (for those with a car), free parking, and lots and lots of space for the endless racks of off-season designer togs.
Paediatrics has been fun-ish too, I like interacting with the children, even though I’m now down with a nasty phlegmy cough and sore throat which I either caught from them or my cgmate. Having it at KKWCH isn’t great though. Despite being assigned to 7 different tutors, we have only managed to have 2 tutorials in the 2 whole weeks so far. I feel like I haven’t started the posting yet, but yet there’s only 6 weeks left before the EOPTs!!
I had the bestest night out on Halloween with Pooja. Not many photos though, wish i’d taken more with the fab people in all the random costumes.

White Rabbit at Dempsey, where we had excellent cocktails made by the cute bartender who wanted to “surprise” us with his cocktails. The atmosphere was nice, as it is sited in a converted church, with high roofs and stained glass windows. We sat at the indoor bar counter and soaked in the atmosphere, and basked in the excellent service, although most of the other patrons chose to sit outdoors instead.

Then it was off to Supper Club, where the theme of the night was Bondage. This photo was taken just before Pooj drew a cat’s nose and whiskers on herself with eyeliner. The club was filled with people in kinky costumes, and was really appropriately decorated. Met some of Pooj’s friends there, and had my first taste of a Jaegerbomb too.
